We get an insight into Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s security detail and his typical entry into government house in the video below. Many have wondered why Governor El-Rufai has 2 door openers. One opens then door for the other who then opens the door for the Governor. Some see it as an unecessary measure and a flambouryant waste of resources. But what people do not understand is that it could be a security measure. The first guy is part of the outer perimeter security covering external threats and will only open the door for the second guy if he has ascertained that “all-is-clear”. This paves the way for the second guy to open the door for the who is meant to offer Close-Body-Protection. But its a standard in security circles.
The extent of your security detail is dependent on the security threat. We all know El-rufai has made many enemies from being FCT minister to Givernor of Kaduna state. Presently he is in a raging battle against the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in a state that has become the Head Quarters of insecurity in Nigeria. Hence the extra measure needed.
