A video has surfaced of fraudster Abidemi Rufai showcasing his ill gotten wealth by throwing foreign currency (Dollars) indiscriminately in the air during a party in an undisclosed location. 42 year old Abidemi in the video is dressed like an Arab and flanked by friends who join him in throwing cash in the air.
Abidemi who was recently arrested at the JFK Internation Airport in the United States by the FBI was previously wanted for wire fraud after he defrauded various States in the US of over $350,000 Dollars cumulatively, money ment for the unemployed. He achieved this using stolen identities of US citizens, particularly in Washington state to claim unemployment benefit payments directly into his personal Bank account from the Washington State Employment Security Department. He was at the point of his arrest trying to leave the country.

So far Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) has found that Abidemi Rufai’s scam cuts across 10 other states in the US (Hawai, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, NewYork, Ohio, Pensylvania, Winsconsin and Wyoming). The FBI is so appalled it describes his activities as “Prolific”.
The US Department if Justice was effectively able to identify and track Abidemi Rufai through his very conspicuous digital footprint on social media. He is very visible especially on face book and Instagram where he displays his wealth, affluence and parades a profile as a motivational speaker while claiming to be the Senior Special Assistant to Nigeria’s Ogun State Governor.

Washington state claims to have lost $642,954,000 to fraudsters and has so far been able to recover $369,989,000 of the stolen money. The FBI believes Rufai’s arrest will provide more insight into capturing other fraudsters and recovering the balance of the moneys missing. The FBI says Rufai’s tactics for perpetuating fraud was remarkably simple but also avoided detection from fraud alert systems. He simply adjusted slightly the fonts spelling peoples gmail accounts which the system could not detect the difference. Abidemi will be arraigned in Federal court within the week.
